My work is mainly based around rescue, rehabilitation and reintegration of children in our care. We rescue orphaned and abandoned children by admitting them to one of our two crisis nurseries while ensuring that their needs are met. We rehabilitate children who experience traumas such as family separation. And whenever it is safe and possible, we reintegrate children with their families.

Jackie Namagembe
Child Development Specialist, CACZ

With decades of research, it is well known that separation from families is traumatic for children, and can lead to serious long-term psychological and physical damage. Family-based care provides the best outcomes for children, and so I wish to see a Zambia where all children thrive in families, be it biological or alternative.

Simon Kanyembo
Director of Social Services, CACZ

By practitioners, for practitioners.

In partnership, Christian Alliance for Children in Zambia (CACZ) and Alliance for Children Everywhere (ACE) have been reintegrating children for over 20 years. When reintegration isn’t possible we seek permanent placement through Foster Care and Adoption. Family Permanency is our ultimate goal!
